Setting off to securing global source technology through precision therapeutics convergence research

Hanyang University opened Hanyang Institute for Precision Therapeutics(hereinafter HY-IPT) for the development of life science research and the biohealth industry.

In the opening ceremony held at the Ansan City ERICA Campus on the February16th, Hanyang Foundation Chairman Kim Jong-ryang, President Kim Woo-seung, Vice-President Lee Han-seung, Ansan City industrial support Director Jeon Deok-ju, and representatives of medicine and bio industries participated.

HY-IPT was established by 40 instructors from the College of Science and Convergence Technology, College of Pharmacy, College of Engineering Sciences, College of Computing, and College of Sports and Arts. There are four centers of △Precision new medical research and development center △Precision immunotherapy research center △Digital health research center △Nano-theranostics research center.

HY-IPT will conduct precision medical research based on bio new medicine, targeted therapy, gene therapy, cell therapy, first-class-materials, and bio bigdata·artificial intelligence.

Professor Seo Hye-myung from the Department of Molecular & Life Science, who is the Director of HY-IPT, said “HY-IPT will be the starting point for the creation of the innovation cluster of university hospitals, pharmaceutical, and bio inside the Hanyang University ERICA Campus Innovation Park” and that “We will carry out convergence research on personalized medicine through joint researches with researchers from diverse fields and secure global source technologies as a result.”
