Professor's start-up field standed out...Submitted 10 categories and received 6 Honorees

Hanyang University (President Kim Woo-seung) won the best innovation award at CES 2023, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition. Hanyang University received a total of six Honorees, including the Best Innovation Award at CES 2023.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced technologies and products that won CES Honorees in 28 categories on November 16 (local time). Hanyang University won the Innovation Award in the category of Cybersecurity and Privacy, Software and Mobile App, Smart Home, Digital Health, and Fitness and Sports. Among them, Hanyang University received the Best of Innovation award in the cybersecurity and privacy protection sectors, which is awarded to the most innovative technologies and products in the industry.

The blockchain online voting system zkVoting was selected as the first blockchain app to win the Best Innovation Award in two categories: cyber security·privacy protection and software·mobile app.

zkVoting is an online voting app that solves the problems and weaknesses of the pre-existing blockchain voting system using the original technology of Zkrypto Co., founded by Professor Oh Hyun-ok of the Department of Information Systems. Voters' personal information is completely protected, allowing them to vote anytime, anywhere with confidence and greatly reduce the manpower, cost, and time required to election management. In particular, the transparency and reliability of the election are dramatically improved because anyone can verify the results of the vote.

Azeroth is a digital asset anonymous transaction service that received the Honorees in cybersecurity and privacy protection sector, which was developed by Professor Oh's laboratory startup Zkrypto as well. Azeroth is the world's first digital asset trading wallet app to support anonymity and auditing in an open blockchain.

LUXTEP, a walking mat for preventing falling accident developed by Professor Kim Ji-eun of the Department of Technology Management received Honorees in the smart home category. LUXTEP is a mat that prevents falling accident and enables walking training for the elderly. It also collects behavioral data such as balance, stride, and walking speed of both feet when standing or walking, predicts the risk of falling and provides real-time feedback through reactive LEDs.

EyeFit, co-developed by Professor Lim Han-woong of Department of Medicine (CEO of Orbittree Co.) and Professor Park Tae-joon of Department of Robotics, won Honorees in the digital health category and fitness·sports category. EyeFit is an eye health care device that measures eye fatigue quickly and accurately by applying machine vision and AI technology.

"The D-Lab (Productization Concept Model Development System) of Hanyang University's Technology Commercialization Center, which systematically supports commercialization planning, design, visualization, and prototyping of technology, played a key role," said Byun Joong-moo, vice president for Hanyang University's Industry-University Cooperation Foundation.

Meanwhile, the technology to win the CES 2023 Innovation Award will be displayed at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 5th to 8th next year.
