Hanyang University announced on February 17 that Professor Chang Joon-hyuk's research team from Hanyang University's School of Electronic Engineering (ASML Laboratory) will present a total of seven papers in the world-renowned AI signal processing conference, ICASSP 2023 (IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing) held in Rhodes, Greece in June.

ICASSP, where Professor Chang's team will publish seven papers in tandem, is the most renowned academic conference in the field of signal processing AI hosted by the IEEE Signal Processing Society. ICASSP, which marks its 48th anniversary this year, is one of the two most renowned academic conferences along with the INTERSPEECH conference in the field of AI speech and signal processing. This year, in particular, more than 6,000 papers were submitted, recording the largest publication competition rate ever, with the number of papers submitted doubling compared to the ones submitted last year.

The accepted papers of this year are as follows, △ Speech Enhancement System that Utilizes Speech Recognition Information (Yang Da-hee) △ Performance Improvement of Transformer-based Speaker Segmentation System (Jeong Ye-rin) △ Noise Resistant Speech Recognition (Seong Ju-seok) △ Speech Segmentation Technique to Prevent Poor Performance of Voice Recognition Model  (Lee Jae-hong, Kim Dong-hyun) △ High-speed Voice Generation Technology with Advanced Voice Intelligibility (Jang So-hee, Kim Yeon-joo) △ Learning Sequence Technology Without Loss of Previous Information of Voice Recognizer (Choi Jin-seung, Lee Chae-won) △ Vehicle Speed Estimation Technique Based on Sequence to Sequence (Cho Jae-heung). Papers in various fields such as speech recognition, signal processing, and speaker recognition, all of which are mainb fields in AI signal processing, have been evenly selected.

Professor Chang's team will present the papers at ICASSP 2023, which will be held at the Rohdes Palace Luxury Convention Resort in June this year.

Professor Chang said, "The acceptance of seven papers from a single university lab in ICASSP is a great achievement in the field of AI signal processing, where global competition is fierce," adding, "With industry-academic cooperation support from major companies such as Hyundai Motor, Samsung MX division, Samsung Research, and Welaaa, that allowed to progress original research that acted as the root of commercialization was a great help to produce excellent research results."
