The Hanyang SSIR(Stanford Social Innovation Review) Korea Center, under Hanyang University’s Global Social Innovation Center, announced that it successfully hosted the session 'Impact Careers and Ecosystem Insights' at the '2nd Korea Social Value Festa,' held on August 26 at COEX in Samseong-dong. The session was co-organized with Root Impact Corporation and Impact Alliance, and was attended by more than 150 practitioners from public institutions, corporations, and nonprofit organizations, who gathered to share insights on social value and the impact career ecosystem.
The Korea Social Value Festa, hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is the largest social value-related event in the country. Over two days, about 10,000 stakeholders—including government, corporations, cooperatives, academia, and young people—come together to exchange cases of social problem-solving and explore opportunities for collaboration.
The 'Impact Careers and Ecosystem' session was organized as a part of the Impact Career Article Project currently being developed by the Hanyang SSIR Korea Center, supported by Google.org funding through Root Impact. The project is a collaborative initiative among six organizations, including Root Impact’s Impact Career Team, Hanyang University’s Global Social Innovation Foundation, Impact Alliance, The Better Future, Ginger Tea Project, and Impact Research Lab. Three of these organizations, including Hanyang SSIR Korea Center, participated in this session.
During the session, Hanyang SSIR Korea Center presented Hanyang University’s diverse initiatives for fostering the skills and mindset essential for Impact Career, highlighting the potential role and contribution of universities to the Impact ecosystem. Next, Root Impact followed with a presentation on ecosystem entry strategies by its Impact Career Team, and Impact Alliance concluded with an overview of the current impact ecosystem and related strategies.
Kim Hyun-joong from Hanyang SSIR Korea Center remarked, “It was meaningful to share Hanyang University’s significant efforts and achievements in the field of social innovation with diverse organizations across the Impact ecosystem.”
Meanwhile, the Hanyang SSIR Korea Center aims to produce, share, and disseminate knowledge in social innovation needed for the Impact ecosystem to drive social change. A variety of articles on social innovation are available on the SSIR website in Korean.
