The Hanyang University ERICA SW-Centered University Program Group (Scott Uk-Jin Lee as Director) announced that it operated the ‘Let's Go AI Challenge’ experience booth, which uses LEGO kits to explore AI functions, at the 2025 Ansan Science Valley(ASV) Science Festival held over two days, November 1 and 2, on the ERICA campus.

The ‘2025 Ansan Science Valley(ASV) Science Festival’ is a science festival hosted by Ansan City, a participatory science and culture event where future science and technology, such as AI, robotics, and aerospace engineering, can be viewed in one place and which brings in citizens to join. The SW-Centered University Program Group, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation(IITP)'s 'SW-Centered University Project,' participated in the ASV Science Festival with the 'Let's Go AI Challenge.'

The ‘Let's Go AI Challenge’ was implemented as a play-based educational program focused on hands-on AI and robotics practice using LEGO Spike educational kits. The program was structured to allow children and students to directly perform various missions, such as automated carousel control and robot arm candy grasping, thereby learning the principles of AI functions, motors, and sensors. Participants programmed solutions, fostering creative problem-solving and collaboration skills while increasing their interest and understanding of future technology, which garnered significant positive feedback.

Director Scott Uk-Jin Lee stated, "I hope that through the program, which was designed for children to naturally learn the core concepts of robotics and AI through fun activities, they experienced the joy of contemplating rather than finding the technology difficult. ERICA will continue to be a hub for nurturing future talent by continuously disseminating easy and fun SW and AI educational content in partnership with the local community."

Meanwhile, the Ansan Science Valley(ASV) Science Festival, which combines cutting-edge technology experiences and exhibitions in areas like AI, robotics, and digital education, has established itself as a science and culture festival involving the entire Ansan community, including youth and citizens.
