HYU ERICA Center for Entrepreneurship Education Spreads Startup Culture by Hosting "the First ERICA High School Startup Contest"

Hanyang University ERICA Center for Entrepreneurship Education (Director Lim Yi-sook) announced that it successfully held "the First ERICA High School Startup Contest" event at the ERICA Center on January 22.

The event aimed to raise awareness of high school students on startups by expanding "High School Creative Idea Day (CID)" and to spread startup culture and entrepreneurship.

Out of 30 teams, 10 teams who have made it to the main round after the preliminary are Korea Digital Media High School, Cheongshim International Academy, Korean Minjok Leadership Academy, Cheonan Eopseong High School, GyeonggiBuk Science High School, Samil High School, Mirim Meister High School, Hansung Science High School, Maetan High School, and Ilsandong High School, and with the addition of 2 winning-teams (Korea Digital Media High School Moram Moram and Han Byeol) from the last CID competition that gained a chance to compete in the main round without paper submission, a total of 28 students and 12 teams competed in the contest.

As a result, the following teams were honored with respective prizes—the Grand Prize: WelcomeEye (Cheonan Eopseong High School Jang Nam-woo, Baebang High School Hwang Joon-seo, Gongju Meister High School Han Ji-woo—"Smart Notification and Untact Communication Solution for People with Hearing Loss"), the Second Prize: Zoo (Korea Digital Media High School Lim Ji-hoon, Seo Seung-pyo, Seo Yeong-won, Hwang Yun-seong—"AI Mealtime Assistance Solution for People with Visual Impairment"), the Third Prize: Han Byeol (Korea Digital Media High School Jeong Joon-yeong, Lee Yoo-bi, Choi Hyeon-seo, Sim Ho-seong, Lee Ji-min–"Bankruptcy & Rehabilitation Specialized Platform through AI").

Meanwhile, the ERICA Center for Entrepreneurship Education plans to host a startup contest for high school students in 2025 as well, and it will continue follow-up support for strengthening high school startup competencies.
