Hanyang University has completed the establishment of a next-generation comprehensive security system that will care for the safety on campus with KT Telecop. Both organizations had an opening ceremony at the newly built Campus Security Smart Room in the Seoul Campus, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, tested more advanced security infrastructure and presented additional plans that will be implemented within this year.

Hanyang University, since its introduction of unmanned security in 2008, improved its infrastructure vastly. The controlling space and info desk were newly built in the new space, which is two times larger than the previous one. The previous Campus Security Room was reformed into the 2nd Campus Security Smart Room so that people can prepare for emergency situations.

One side of the wall in the main controlling space has a multi-vision of 8.5m x 2.8m scale and it is the largest comprehensive monitoring facility among domestic universities. Old CCTVs were all replaced with high-resolution equipment as well. Thus, one can not only have live information on fire prevention, dangerous materials, and parking with a clear display but also detect sparks in dangerous areas.

Hanyang University, by going a step further, is planning services using a more advanced system this year. From April, "Campus Security Smart Room 2.0" is under operation which improved the previous online reporting system which only provided simple reports. 

When reports or claims are accepted, the nearest people will be dispatched and a "one stop" measure will take place. Also, by using the Public Safety Press' concept, one can check how their reports are dealt with in live time when the person leaves questions by type in two steps. 

Also, by relating with a mobile ID that is planned to be introduced in the latter half of this year, one can enter a building without a plastic card and by digitizing various documents, unnecessary visitations by students will disappear and its speed will increase.

President Kim Woo-seung, through his commemorative speech, said "The word 'safety' is a keyword wherever you go and it is unable to expect what will happen on campus when there are at least 30,000 people going on and off. For education and research freely go their way, this kind of highly elaborated security system is necessary like air."

CEO Jang Ji-ho said in his commemorative speech, "I thank you for giving a chance to make a high-end security system at Hanyang University, which is the largest scale at the domestic level. By using the technology-based security capacity that KT Telecop possesses, we will do our best to make a campus where students can safely spend their time."
