On April 22, Professor Sohn Dong-young from the Department of Media Communication won the best award in the international academic paper field at the 2022 Korean Association for Broadcasting & Telecommunication Studies (hereinafter KABS) spring conference, held at Maison Glad Hotel, Jeju. This best award is given based on the level of journals, thesis citation index, and originality and differentiation of the research method and results, among papers published by KABS researchers in prestigious international journals listed in the the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) communication field after March 1, 2019. 

The international journal examination committee of the KABS chose Professor Sohn's paper under the title of "Spiral of silence in the social media era : A simulation approach to the interplay between social networks and mass media". Professor Sohn, in the paper, highlighted the network environment such as social media and various mass media combinations' impact on mass opinion fluctuations through agent-based simulation and suggested further development indications.
