Cho Sung-hyun, professor at Hanyang University ERICA Campus’ School of Computer Science, received an award from Minister of Science and ICT in recognition of his contribution to next-generation network R&D and wire-wireless network industry development at the recent Mobile Korea 2022 held by Ministry of Science and ICT.

Professor Cho is carrying out 5th and 6th generation mobile communication research projects in the next-generation network field with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, National Research Foundation of Korea, Samsung Science and Technology Foundation, and Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute. In addition, he is working on convergent research and educational activities in AI and various fields as the director of the Education Research Group in the BK21 Four AI field at Hanyang University ERICA Campus. Based on these research activities, he was evaluated for his contribution of AI-based autonomous network construction by applying AI and machine learning technologies to next-generation networks.

Professor Cho said, "The telecommunications and network field is an important pillar that has led Korea's IT industry," and added, "We will continue to make remarkable research achievement so that Korea can lead global technology standards in the next-generation network sector and continue to foster talents."
