Hanyang University announced on the April 13 that it will join hands with Hyundai Motor Group to establish a “Department of Future Mobility" to train professionals in the fields of autonomous driving and system control. Starting with the first selection in May, the two institutions will select 10 master's students from the Department of Future Mobility (Contract Department) every year for the next five years.

The Department of Future Mobility will foster customized talents by strengthening educational content through a joint operation with the School of Electronic Engineering, School of Computer Science, and School of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Hanyang University's Department of Automotive Engineering which is specialized in future technology. In addition, the extension of the undergraduate education program for a Major in Automotive-Computer Convergence Engineering will continue to foster excellent personnel with skills in both theory and practice in graduate schools.

In particular, Hanyang University plans to make efforts to improve basic SW knowledge by operating algorithm coding education for third-year undergraduates and providing opportunities to recommend admission to the Department of Future Mobility to those who pass the coding test.

Those who get accepted into the Department of Future Mobility will receive full tuition and benefits such as participation in Hyundai Motor's field training program, 1:1 mentoring with field researchers, and overseas tours. After graduation, they will be guaranteed to join Hyundai Motor's R&D profession.
