Jo Young-Hoon (Class of '22, Department of Orchestral Instruments) student has won the grand prize in violin performance at the “55th Nan-pa National Music Competition,” a representative music competition in South Korea.

According to the Nan-pa Memorial Association, on the 7th, this competition took place last month from the 24th to the 31st, and on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th of this month at the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation’s Dasan Hall and the Suwon Youth Cultural Center Onnuri Art Hall. Among the approximately 800 participants in this competition, the grand prize was awarded to student Jo Young-hoon.

Jo Young-hoon received comments from the judges such as "Excellent musicality and expressive power, with high completeness," and "We look forward to seeing him grow as a more anticipated musician in the future."

As the recipient of the grand prize, Jo Young-hoon student will perform at the “Nan-pa Music Festival” on October 22nd (Sunday) at 7:30 PM in the Main Theater of the Gyeonggi Arts Center.
