Hanyang University announced on September 11 that Hanyang University ERICA Shared-AI-Robotics Education (Director Park Tae-joon) signed an MOU to cultivate digital new technology field industries such as intelligence robots and to cultivate human talents together with the Korea Electronics Technology Institute and Bucheon, at the Bucheon Gymnasium. 

This MOU includes Kwangwoon University, Bucheon University, Sangmyung University, Hanyang University ERICA, Bucheon City, Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency, and Korea Electronics Technology Institute and they co-develop and utilize digital new technology field education such as intelligence robots, artificial intelligence, and digital healthcare, and gather their power to systematically and efficiently promote cooperative projects in fields of common interests. 

Major agreements are △ digital new technology field co-research development project and human talent cultivation activation with Bucheon-based companies △ digital new technology field mutual information exchange and industry-university cooperation and connection support △ digital new technology industry-university-research-government cooperation coursework and education program development △ digital new technology field industrial issue-solving solution and actual high-quality human talent cultivation △ each institute's necessary points.

The four universities that joined the MOU provided an AI-Robot Career Concert to give elementary school, middle school, high school, and university students a chance to think about their career paths.

Also, Kwangwoon University, Sangmyung University, and Hanyang University ERICA are participating as an intelligence robot consortium to the High-End Innovation Convergence University Project that the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation support, ran an artificial intelligence- and robot-related career consulting and robot experience booth from September 9 to 10 at Bucheon Gymnasium where the Sixth Bucheon Fantasia Robot Festival took place.

Director Park Tae-joon of Hanyang University ERICA said, "Through this agreement, I wish each organization can become a core strategic sector where it leads future high-end technologies. The project group will increase young students' understanding and interest in robots based on the robot industry infrastructures and systematically provide artificial intelligence- and robot-related industry field fitting training systems for young students, non-working population, and people working in relevant companies so that we can cultivate core talents that will lead the world robot market."

The Shared-AI-Robotics Education is a high-tech field industry innovative convergence university project that the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation support, and it aims at solving education differences among regions and universities and cultivating core talents of the high-tech field at the national level. Hanyang University ERICA Campus is a leading university of the consortium and it will continue for six years from 2021 to 2026, with Kwangwoon University, Pukyung University, Sangmyung University, Yeongjin University, Chosun University, and Tech University of Korea.
