Hanyang University announced on July 14 that Hanyang University and Gwangmyeong-si held the 'Smart City-Smart Construction Actualization Strategy City-Industry-University Seminar'.

At the seminar that took place on July 11 at the Gwangmyeong Lifelong Learning Center, Director Kim Hak-seong of Hanyang University LINC 3.0, Mayor Park Seung-won of Gwangmyeong City, Honorary Professor Kim Soo-sam of Hanyang University ERICA Campus Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Director Kang Sang-gi of Hanyang University AI Solution Center, President Park Gwan-min of AI Construction Industry Alliance, and officials of the institutes, board members of Gwangmyeong-based companies and smart construction companies, and Hanyang University professors participated.

Director Kim Hak-seong of Hanyang University LINC 3.0 promised, "We are thankful to meet such an active and innovative partner like Gwangmyeong. I will help Gwangmyeong's smart city project at best."

Mayor Park Seung-won of Gwangmyeong City said that a large change in the city is expected within two decades including large-sized construction projects such as the third new town in Siheung and Gwangmyeong, Techno Valley in Gwangmyeong and Siheung, and Second Public Residential Area of Ha-an, the city should form a smart city while reacting to the climate crisis for carbon neutrality and prepare the upcoming hundred years of Gwangmyeong by cultivating smart construction industries.

Honorary Professor Kim Soo-sam said, "Let's make Gwangmyeong the first case to build a perfect smart city and to be the core of smart cities."

Hanyang University will carry on the city-industry-university cooperation with Gwangmyeong City, AICIA based on the LINC 3.0 and AI Solution Center and it is going to speed up its participation in cultivating smart cities and smart construction industries.
