Hanyang University ERICA Industry–Academia Cooperation Foundation (Director: Lee Bang-uk) announced that on August 12, at IPNETP’s Cocody campus in Côte d’Ivoire, it completed the installation of equipment and furniture as well as the remodeling of practice rooms under the ‘ICT-Based Teaching Capacity Building Project for Teachers,’ along with handover of equipment and a local training enrollment ceremony were also held.

This project is being carried out by the ERICA Industry–Academia Cooperation Foundation as the PMC (Project Management Consulting) for KOICA’s country cooperation program, Korea’s leading grant aid initiative.

Through the project, Hanyang University ERICA provided approximately 5 billion CFA francs worth of support, including practice equipment in four industrial fields (automation, machinery, automobile, and ICT, including AI), multimedia classrooms and ICT laboratories, and educational models(automation, automobile). In particular, the project modernized CNC, automation, and automobile practice rooms, while also supplying educational furniture and related facilities. By covering every stage—from equipment procurement, installation, and test operation to handover, inspection, and initial operational stabilization—the project established an end-to-end integrated management system.

The attendees of the ceremony include key figures in the project: N’Guessan KOFFI, Minister of Technical and Vocational Education and Training; Kim Saeng, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Côte d’Ivoire; Kim Sang-jun, KOICA Director in Côte d’Ivoire; and Edmee Mansila, Director of IPNETP.

According to local reports, Director Edmee Mansila stated, “The continued cooperation with KOICA demonstrates a genuine partnership built on trust and solidarity, and it is a testament to our joint commitment to creating a better future for African youth.”

Minister N’Guessan KOFFI remarked, “This support will enhance IPNETP’s teaching capacity and drive qualitative improvement in future faculty training.” Ambassador Kim Saeng emphasized, “Education is the gateway to national development, and this project has successfully completed the remodeling of practice rooms and installation of equipment.”

Based on the infrastructures, Hanyang University ERICA plans to gradually expand local teacher training focused on equipment operation, lesson design, and industry-linked practice. Earlier, the university invited local administrators to Korea to share its vocational training systems, management, and evaluation practices while supporting actionable implementation plans. Moving forward, it aims to further strengthen local capacity for equipment maintenance and curriculum development to help IPNETP become a vocational and technical education hub in West Africa.

Kicked off on September 23, 2022, the project will run until December 31, 2026, with Hanyang University ERICA Industry–Academia Cooperation Foundation serving as PMC and KOICA providing support. Its scope includes building practice infrastructure(equipment, furniture, learning spaces), remodeling practice rooms, training teachers and administrators, advancing curricula, and institutionalizing equipment maintenance and management—all focused on creating a tailored foundation for faculty training on site.
